Weekend in Lake Tahoe!

This weekend was great! My dad's side of the family had an impromptu family reunion in Lake Tahoe to celebrate my Great Grandma's 90th birthday!

And we got to spend it here :)
My dad's uncle has a time share thingy at the Northstar Village Club which was SO nice, and because it is the off season in Tahoe, he was able to get a whole floor of condos in the resort just for our family! It was so nice! Below the resort there are a bunch of shops!
My family (My parents, Clay, Josh and I) all stayed in a 3 bedroom 3 bath condo that was decorated all cabin like :)
My Parent's Room
Our Room (needs something hanging above the bed)
And Poor Clay got the kid room with two twin beds haha
But they were good for jumping on!
Friday night after all of the family arrived we had appetizers and then headed down to the bonfire in the village next to the ice rink! After that Clay and Josh played a round of life size chess.
Saturday we went fishing with my grandparents, some aunt's and my uncle, and our cousins at Donner Lake.

Here are a few pictures from Clay's cool "I'm a photog camera"
Donner Lake
My little powershot could never do this! haha
it can only do this...
Dad showing Clay how to properly cast, because Clay sucked at it haha
Our first catch of the day! My cousins caught two fish also, and then my aunt made them for dinner.
Too bad Clay doesn't open his eyes...
Josh tried to catch a crawdad but failed miserably because the water was too freezing to go in.
Our pier for the morning of fishin'!
:)
Josh patting my dad on the head!
Then after fishing we went in to Truckee to get some lunch and walk around the little shops. (My dad ended up getting food poisoning from it a few hours later and spent the evening laying down. Sad!)
Cheese!
But before my dad felt sick we made a trip to the rec room where he and Josh played an arcade game, some kid left quarters in it so they took advantage of the free game haha
Then after our adventure to the game room I helped my grandma set up for dinner that night in one of the extra condos.
Saturday night we had a big family dinner, and one of my dad's cousins owns a Ben and Jerry's so we had hot fudge sundaes from Ben and Jerry's!! Deeeeelish! Then we went back to our condo and relaxed by the fire before it was time for bed.

On Sunday morning we got up and packed up our stuff into the truck and since my dad was feeling better we decided to go on the gondola ride to the top of Northstar! It took a while to convince my mom to go because she is scared of heights, but eventually she caved!

The little gondola pods!
Clay and Josh in the gondola
Dad, Mom, and I!
The little gondola pod took us halfway up the mountain, then from there we had to take a ski lift the rest of the way! Talk about creepy when there isn't snow below you!
Joshy and I going up!

A funny trash can at the top of the mountain
Josh found some snow! It hasn't quite hit us full force in California yet...
Then it was time to head back down the mountain!

(Just envision these two pictures put together)

After our accident free gondola ride (told you mom!) we got in the truck and headed home. Then a lunch stop and a potty break or two later we were home to my parent's house and then Josh and I drove back to where we live. We had to do a bit of grocery shopping and then treated ourselves to some Mexican food so we didn't have to cook - which was an excellent idea :)

Monday it was back to the grind at work and school for Joshy. But it was such a great weekend!! I had a blast and it was so good to see my family - all 40+ of them!

It looks like you had a great time! I'm jealous, in all my years of living in CA I never once went to Tahoe (that I can remember) even though my Grandparents went there EVERY year. On a side note, what Mexican place did you go to? I LOVE the one by Safeway. FREAKING AWESOMENESS.

So fun! It's so cold out here in DC, but we haven't had snow yet, thank goodness!

How come I didn't get to jump on the beds with you guys?? You holdin out on me again? I did enjoy the pod ride, too, but it was because I was with you guys and it made it a little less scary...til we got on the freezing open lifts! It was a great weekend all told, sad that Dad got sick, but still a good weekend. And thank you for my wonderful birthday prezzies, too. I love my Coach bag, my giraffe ornament and my crazy socks. One thing though, Josh forgot to get me another cup like the one he has given me every year for the last 7 years! :o( hahahaha I love you both!

Haha, I had to enlarge the picture after the "good for jumping on" caption because when it was little I was for sure that it was someone photo-shopped in...that's great!!! Looks like you had an awesome time!
