Josh's Hockey Tournament!

On Saturday Josh's hockey team had a tournament in Woodland, Ca. and I was lucky enough to get the day off to attend! I was so excited! We started our morning early so we could drive there and get to the rink on time, arriving around 9AM. When we got out of the car it was FREEZING. I mean, like bone chilling cold, so we decided that since we were early we would go get some hot chocolate and then come back and wait in the warm car (because the rink of course didn't have heaters).

Well, when we came back and parked I noticed this guy in the parking lot standing there without a shirt -in FREEZING and windy temps - positioning a water cooler, and I thought omg, is he really going to shower right now??!

And yes, he did...
Anyways,
Josh's team played 4 games,
one at 10:30 am vs UC Santa Cruz,
12:30 pm vs Cal State Chico,
3:30 pm vs UC Davis,
and 6:30 pm vs West Valley College

Of course on Josh's first shift of the first game of the day he got a penalty. SURPRISE SURPRISE! For those of you who don't know, Joshy has lead the league in penalty minutes for quite some time now.

Oh look, #8 is in the box, what a shocker.
Josh is the one in blue in the center of the picture, the goalie is his sister, Amber!
Joshy and I at the end of the day, still freezing and really hungry!
Josh's team lost every game hahaha. They came really close to winning two of them, but lost it in the last few minutes. Oh, well! Better luck next time SSU!

Facebook = the new Get Out Of Jail Free Card?

Apparently Facebook can get you out of jail...
I was reading online last night about a guy who was arrested for a robbery he didn't commit, and in the end he was released due to a status update that gave him an air tight alibi. CRAZY isn't it?

Who know that the life consuming facebook could be a get out of jail free card?

Well, today is Friday, which means it's almost the weekend! Luckily I have Saturday off because Josh has a hockey tournament in Davis on Saturday! I'm so excited to watch the games and cheer on SSU! Let's just hope Josh stays out of the penalty box! (last year he had the most penalty minutes in the league - whopsie, someone is a tad bit aggressive haha)

what?

so I'm browsing Speedo's website thinking it might be time to get a new swim suit for at the gym. Not that mine is totally worn out or anything, but I'm getting kind of bored of the one I have since I wear it so much, plus Speedo is having a 30% off promotion.

ANYWAYS...

I'm looking and there are all of these different tabs you can click on with the types of swim suits they make. Like racing, life guard, and fashion, but the one that caught me off guard was Aquatic. Like really? Aren't all Speedo swimsuits for aquatic use?

When I click on the tab, the suits look just like any other suits (I mean maybe they cover a bit more but still), so I'm just curious, do we REALLY need to classify certain swim suits as aquatic?

The directions are to post the award on your site, write 10 interesting things about yourself, and then pass it on to 10 other bloggers.

-I'm a huge coupon hound. Before I leave the house I always try to find coupons online first, I love saving money on things I am going to buy no matter what.
-I'm a very creative person, and I love to do crafts, decorate, and scrapbook. Sadly I just don't have the time right now with my work schedule.

SO GROSS!

****Just a little side note: I NEVER use our front door, I always enter/exit the house through the garage.****

So when I noticed that I had forgotten that these little beauties have been sitting out for over a week...
... and have now turned in to these:
it made me want to barf! Needless to say, shoveling these nasty things right into the garbage is on the tippy top of Josh's to do list for today, right behind putting that load of towels in the dryer haha

Vera Bradley Holiday Party!

Last night my good friend Steph and I headed to San Francisco to go to the Vera Bradley Holiday Party! I had never been to one of their parties so it was pretty neat to go for once! Plus it was an extra special party because they had a rep. from InStyle Magazine and a pro photographer! And they were snapping pictures like crazy to put on the VB facebook page - I really hope we aren't put on it! hahaha
Stephanie and I :)
There were 6 raffles for some pretty neat prizes but sadly neither of us won! But we did get a nice little goody bag and some fun snacks while we were there!
Our Loot included an InStyle Magazine, the new InStyle Book, a VB card holder, VB mints, and some nail polish! Not bad!
We had a fun time and it was so nice just to have a girls night out! I'm not sure if I would go to another one, just because it got pretty crowded and I don't like shopping when I feel claustrophobic - but it was a GREAT people watching opportunity haha.

Happy Friday Everyone!!

Gym Freak Of The Week

Believe it or not I have been going to the gym regularly eventhough it has been forever since I've had a GFTW to post about. I just hope they are getting less freaky and I'm not just becoming immune to their weirdness.

But nevertheless, there was a freak yesterday - and to my surprise it took place on the bicycle machine and not in the pool this time! So anyways, on my way to the pool I have to walk past a bunch of exercise equipment and right along the pathway there is a row of bicycle machines - no biggie.

Welllllll yesterday there was a man just cycling away and out of the corner of my eye I noticed something a TAD bit odd... in the drink holder of the machine where you would usually see a bottle of water I could have SWORN I saw a carton of milk. But by the time my brain processed the information and I proceeded to do a double take I was already past him.

Luckily for me (I guess haha) he was still there when I was leaving after my swim, so I was prepared this time to get a good look at the craziness that was happening right in front of my eyes. And sure enough it was a milk carton! And what makes it ever GROSSER is that it was HALF AND HALF!!! I kid you not.
I mean SERIOUSLY?!

Who A) drinks milk while they work out? NASTY!
and B) who on EARTH drinks half and half while they work out?!?! SO disgusting!!!!!!

I Love Love Love drinking milk, but I have the draw the line somewhere and I'm pretty sure milk does not belong at the gym! Hydrate with water you freak!

I hate...

... logging in to my online bank account.
I've said it before and I will say it again, every time I log in it is like a mini-anxiety attack. Even though I have a good idea of how much money is in each of my accounts, somehow I am still a little surprised every time I login.

And I HATE using my credit card, and I hate how it tries to trick me in to thinking I don't owe as much as I really do. POO on you credit card, too bad I will never allow you to make me pay interest because I pay you off every month, even if you use mean tactics like posting things to my account really slow. I've caught on to your games and I will not let you win! (But you can have the satisfaction of knowing you freak me out daily when I know I have a balance on you.)

ughh.

How many credit cards do you have? How many do you actually use? I have 3, and I only use one of them - but I feel like even using one is too much.

Judge me, I don't care

I'll admit it, I saw the MJ movie on Sunday night and I liked it.

I didn't really know what to expect going into the movie, I mean really - I knew nothing other than it was about Michael Jackson's last tour. But let me tell you, it was really interesting. Granted it was REALLY long (at just about 2 hours) buuuuuuut it was so neat to see him in action at 59 years old, and truly see the musical genius at work.

You can just see his passion for music and his true understanding for beats, instruments, and dance throughout the whole film, and also the great pride he took in his work and making it perfect.

He was a huge part of music and our culture, therefore I felt like it was my duty to cheer him on one last time. Anyone else with me on this one?

p.s. our Halloween was nice and relaxing but somewhat disappointing, we only got about 7 trick or treaters!! So we have ALL of that candy leftover!!!
