road to recovery... and real food

After a short blogging hiatus, I am back! I can finally get out of bed for more than the short trip to the couch or bathroom, and my dizzy/hot flash spells are becoming less frequent, not to mention, no more night sweats! Finally!!

... now if I can just get my appetite back, I'm sick of eating toast and rice.

Strep Test

My strep test came back negative today, hooray! But in a way it sucks because I still feel like crap, and now I just have a mystery illness. Last night I was hoping to end my 2 night streak of middle of the night drench fests but I was let down by going 3 for 3, and adding in an extra bonus round last night (woo 2 in one night), bringing my total up to 4 drench fests.

So I've just been hanging out in bed all day, which is not like me at all, but I cant do anything else! I'm so exhausted! I've watched a couple episodes of the girls next door, some deadliest catch, and some cooking shows on TLC, overall not too bad, but I have the Sex and The City movie waiting on my nightstand for when I can't take the lame Saturday afternoon tv anymore.

I hope everyone else is out enjoying the beautiful weather and getting ready for Easter! My family is going camping on the coast this weekend, but alas I will be staying home due to my illnesses :( Oh well, maybe next time!

Happy Easter!

Thank you Kaiser

After visiting the doctor, I was told I have a cold.Thank you Kaiser for that wonderful information, because I had absolutely NO idea that I was sick, and it was def worth paying you $25 to learn that.

The doctor couldn't really offer me any ideas as to why I've been waking up in the night drenched, but said it might be because of my cold, and to "watch it". I'm sorry but I'd rather not "watch it", I want it to stop.

Anyways, I wanted to thank Mary at Mare's Mind for all of the ideas, you are so sweet and I think you were more on the ball than my doctor as to what might be causing it to happen.

Well it's Lunch/laundry time, so ttfn!

Sick? Who me?

I hate being sick, I hate being cooped up in the hosue, and both of these have been my fate as of recent. So yesterday I said screw this, I'm going to the gym anyways, and I'm going to an event on campus anyways.

I use to work for the Event Planning Dept. on campus, so I thought it would be fun to go to the event and see all of my friends from college. They were hosting San Jose Taiko, and it was free! So you can't get much better than that.
The drums were so loud!
It was insane how all of them were in sync and how much noise they could make
Overall it was pretty fun, and a nice way to get out of the house. I suggest if you are ever bored on a weekend, look up what events are happening at your local college/university, most events are open to the general public and are usually really cheap if not free.

Unfortunately, I'm paying the price for my night on the town by feeling worse today than yesterday. I woke up drenched in sweat again last night, even after using less blankets and sleeping with the window open. So I'm throwing in the towel and going to Kaiser for a 10:40 appt.

p.s. has anyone else seen the car chase that happened this morning in LA? I don't know if this makes me a bad person for thinking its hilarious, but this lady is an idiot for running from the police, and she made a few moves that I couldn't help but laugh at.

My Life Right Now

Right now I am at home of course, thanks to that lovely thing called being unemployed -LAME.

I didn't sleep very well last night, and actually woke up DRENCHED in sweat in the middle of the night, GROSS I know. It was so bad I had to change my jammies and put a towel down over where I was sleeping. I did some research and a few causes could be a) being preggo b) from taking viagra c) totally random causes
. I'm happy to annouce it is not option A or B, but if it is C then I'm a bit worried. This has happened about 4 or 5 times so far this year and it just keeps getting worse (and so far it hasn't happened during that time but a week or so before, if you get my drift). Any Insight?

So back to me right now in this moment, I'm currently sporting a pair of my pink ducky feety pjs, have a cup of kool-aid by my side, and a huge pile of tissues (because Mother nature has also decided to bless me with the worst allergies ever = allergic to all grasses and all pine trees, sweet I live in Northern California where these are inescapable.)

I thought about posting a picture of me in my feety pjs for about a millia second and then I realized that would be a terrible idea, so enjoy this overly happy girl instead.

Today my job search started off by being rejected from my #1 job choice - biggest feeling of defeat, I really really wanted that job. So the search continues.

I'm also keeping it exciting today by having hot/cold flashes. To be honest, I think being at home is slowly killing my soul haha. I CAN'T do it, I'm too independent to be at home all day!!! Stay at home Moms, I salute you!
