Painting Predicament : Part 2

First I want to say Thank You to all of my lovely bloggy friends for weighing in on my painting predicament post yesterday! I basically left for the store to buy a new color as soon as I posted my blog yesterday.

I know myself (as many of you know me as well haha) and I knew that I wouldn't learn to like it. So I went to the store, picked out a random yellow that I thought would work, bought the paint, went home and tested it out... and FINALLY came out with a winner!! By the time I got home from work last night Josh had already painted the entire room with two coats, Thanks Joshy :) **Poor Josh painted the entire room 3 times in 3 different colors, can we say good sport??!**

Here are a few pictures, bad quality, and the colors aren't really showing true, but you will get the idea.

Here is the second color, Josh called it Rubber Ducky Yellow, this is the paint that had me asking everyone's advice...
Here is the Winning Color! It is a really soft yellow, called Silk Cypress. It kinda looks like something that would be in a nursery haha, but I woke up this morning LOVING it! I wish the picture did it more justice...
Now we just need to get some pictures hung up to make it all homey :)

Finished Pottery!

As many of you know, a few weeks ago my friend Sarah and I went to paint pottery! All of our things were finally ready to be picked up, so I thought I would share the finished products...

The two tea pot magnets I painted :)
My Ugly Mug, nothing will save this one.
My two jewelry dishes, perfect for putting my rings in when I do the dishes! There was a weird thing in the blue one that I couldn't paint over, so now it's just a huge blob, oh well.
And last but not least, my candy dish! It turned out really cute - this picture doesn't do it justice! Filled with Fun Dip of course, after Jen at The McCrady's had me craving some a few weeks ago during my candy post!

I highly recommend painting pottery, its a great thing to do with friends or go alone just for some peace and quiet :)

Happy Wednesday!

Randoms

On Friday I made the trip home and back to Livermore for a job interview. After the interview I stopped by my parents house to visit real quick and then I headed back to RP.

When I got here Josh and Amber were hanging out, doing experiements to see if Amber is allergic to gluten by having her eat wheat bread to see if she would get sick. (I swear, it was like coming home to two kids playing doctor) Since Amber wasn't getting sick we decided we should do something since she has work all week and wouldn't be able to hang out for a while. So we decided to go and paint pottery for their Oma for an Easter gift, and then grab some food afterwards.

Once at the pottery place, they were overwhelemd by what to make, and decided that they wanted to make something for Oma and for themselves, but time flies when your paitning pottery, and Oma got the shaft and didn't get anything haha.
Amber ended up making a cross-eyed penguin pencil holder, I made a candy bowl and a magnet, and Josh made this weird wine caddy thing for his Mom for Mother's day. (It is the thing with the grapes and the rooster on it. You put the center hole over the top of the wine bottle and the two outer holes hold wine glasses upside down) After painting pottery we went to the Cantina for dinner and had some delish Mexican food, and then we dropped Amber off at her house so she could relax and paint her toenails.

Yesterday Josh and I went for 3 or 4 walks throughout the day because it was so nice out, and then we made BBQ hamburgers and potatoes for dinner, yum! Here is a picture of Josh grilling them up!
The shadows from the trees make Josh look like he has a creepy beard, but he doesn't! At least for now... haha.

After dinner we watched Made of Honor. It was a cute romance movie, very predictable with a lot of snafoos. I mean come on people, if you are supposed to be naked, the camera shouldn't show your underwear, but whatever.

Now we are off to do our usual Sunday routine: Groceries, Laundry, and run with Stephanie.

Hope you all had a great weekend! :)

Painting Pottery!

Yesterday my good friend Sarah came to visit! So we decided to go to the Pottery Studio in Santa Rosa, it turned out to be a beautiful day with Sunlight filling the studio!
Here is our table before we made it all messy, and yes,
we made a stop at Mrs. Field's for some cookies and soda :)

Painters!
Sarah and the Flower Pot she painted for her Mom :)
Me and my hideous mug!
Hideous Mug Part Two.
I painted two little dishes to put rings/jewelry in,
along with 3 little magnets.

Over all it was a Successful day!

We had to leave our creations there to get glazed/fired, but I will be sure to post pictures of the final products, in hopes to redeem myself and my poor artwork! haha
