In Memory...

There isn't much else to say today, except for that we will never forget the tragedies of September 11th, and those who lost their lives. Days like today really put everything into perspective. It's somewhat of a reality check that whatever annoying things that are going on in my life are really trivial compared to what so many people went through that day, and what their families are still dealing with today. And of course, we owe so much to our troops and their families for their commitment to our country and our safety.

Although today is a sad, sad day, I am still so proud to be an American.

stupid construction = silly Joshy

The neighborhood we live in is currently being renovated by the home owners association. It has been under construction for a few months now - but we are finally on the home stretch! This week they are pressure washing our house, and after that comes paint! Then Waaaa-La, we will be construction free!! Which means no more creepers looking in our bathroom window while I am getting ready or workers yelling "Bano! Bano!" on the other side of the wall from where I am sleeping. GLORIOUS!

Well before they started the painting phase of the project on our townhouse they posted a notice on our door saying to exercise caution when exiting the house/garage because there will be people on the roof (who throw things off of it carelessly by the way).

So yesterday when it was time for Joshy to go to school he went into the garage to get his bike and on the other side of the garage door we heard the blasting of the pressure washer... so it was obvious a garage exit was out of the question, and after looking out the front door, that option was eliminated as well.

Man with Pressure Washer = No Go on Front Door Exit
After trying to sweet talk his way out of going to class, I told Josh he HAD to go, and that he better find a way to get there.... So he did.

Out the back door he went...

Josh be Nimble Josh be Quick...
Up and Over
He looks like he could be on Home Improvement haha
I'm going to be such a mean Mom, my kids are NEVER going to sweet talk me out of going to class hahaha

Mama's Got a Brand New Bag!

Some of you have been asking if I ever got a Coach purse after my big decisions post and I am happy to announce that YES I have finally got a new Coach purse :)

I am proud to introduce to you my new friend, Addison:

After going to San Francisco a few weeks ago and visiting the big Coach store there, along with Bloomingdale's, Nordy's, and Macy's I realized that the Maggie looked waaay better online than in person, so I left SF empty handed and some what disappointed.

But last week when I went in to work, we had gotten in some transfers and new shipment, and in side one of the boxes was the Addison Business Tote in Black Op Art and I was instantly in love. I attempted to take my own pictures of her but it just didn't do her justice.
I love her because I can put all of my work binders and stuff in there and still have room to spare, she certainly isn't an every day I'm going to go run errands purse, but instead, a functional business tote for the working woman. She is Large and in Charge and screams - I'm a serious Business Woman haha.

So there you have it. Welcome home Addison!

My Laborfilled Labor Day Weekend

This weekend I lived at work. I worked Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Four out of the Five days I was lucky enough to close until 10pm -LOVELY. But thankfully on Friday I got off of work at 5 so I got to have a bit of fun.

Our friends Stephanie and Anthony BBQ'd us steaks for dinner and made some delish potatoes! YUM! After dinner I had Josh hang up my latest decorative purchase that I picked up at Bed Bath and Beyond with my 20% off coupon :) I've been wanting something to hang on the wall in the kitchen and I thought this would be perfect because it is a little different!
Up close of the plates, they are really pretty autumn colors
The kitchen table area with the new addition, don't mind the hideous light fixture haha
Then after we were done hanging the plate art I realized that the box it came in would make a perfect sled. So we headed to the stairs.....

And yes I am wearing Josh's fur hat. When I got to the top of the stairs I realized I should wear some sort of head protection in case my ride took a turn for the worse and the first thing I could find was Josh's hat haha

Then Josh gave it a whirl, only after I did it twice and made it out alive haha

After a few sled rides down the stairs we had a fun game night playing Taboo and Sorry! then followed it up with watching some shows off of our DVR while eating brownies and ice cream :) Overall it was a great night, I just wish I would of had at least ONE more night off this holiday weekend, but ohhhhh well!

I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday weekend!

Can I just say...

Props to my Brother! He is getting pretty freaking good at photography/being a photog! I was checking out his Flickr today and was blown away. For only getting into photography about a year ago, he is doing really well.

He took head shots of his childhood friend Kelsey yesterday and they turned out really great! So I just had to share...

Some sassy pictures of his friend Mardi

His friend Lyndsey, you might remember her as Clay's Prom Date!
Who doesn't love the swings?? For the Record, I was riding them when this was taken :)
And of course, the picture that won Clay the First Place Ribbon at the fair!
After looking through these, it's pretty obvious that not only is Clay an awesome photographer, but also a huge ladies man!! haha

Anyways, I'm really excited because Clay is going to come visit Josh and I soon to take pictures of us! We've never had professional, or even semi-pro (haha) pictures taken, so needless to say, I can't wait! :)

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend!!

Free lunch, bike ride, and a new frisbee!

Yesterday was my second day off in a row - yay! (The simple joys of working a retail schedule) So I got up and ran some errands to the bank, the drugstore, and to the shoe store, then I came home and rode my bike to campus to meet Josh for lunch!

And boy did I luck out, it was the Club Fair Day on campus, where everyone gets a free lunch! Granted it is nothing fabulous, just a hot dog, chips, cookies, and a soda, but it is free so you can't beat it! Plus they serve your lunch on a Frisbee that you get to keep!

All of the Clubs
The Stevenson Quad
After we ate our lunch :)
Can you spot our bikes??
We have to share a bike lock because Josh lost his, so he had to set my bike free after lunch so I could go home.
While on campus I got to see my good friend Christa, and a bunch of my old co-workers which was really fun! I'm so glad I had yesterday off to visit with everyone :)

After lunch I rode my bike home and then went to Target to roam the aisles, I didn't have anything specific to get, I just knew I needed to go to Target (I haven't been in over a month!). Once I got home I took a nice little nap and then headed to the gym. Josh finally got home around 7:15 from class and we had dinner and then I decided to make some chocolate chip cookies.

Sadly, one of the eggs didn't make it, whoopsie haha
Afterwards Joshy and I watched some TV and ate far too much cookie dough, and then we went to bed. It was a very productive yet fun day off, now it's back to work - boo!

My First Pedicure!

Yesterday I had my first pedicure!! I know you are probably wondering what the heck took me so long, but I don't like paying for something I can do myself, and honestly, I do a pretty good job at painting my toes.

But alas, a girl who works with me is going to Beauty School and told me I should come in and have her do my nails. So I figured why not, after all it was only $20!!!! for a Manicure and a Pedicure - she even wrapped my feet in wax!!!

Here is a quick before picture of my boring nails...
My foot wrapped in the wax like a mummy! They were so soft and slippery after!
My toes all done!
I'm not a red nail polish kind of girl, I usually stay with pinks (surprise surprise) but at work we are only allowed to have clear or red polish, so I had to give in to the Red.
Excited after my first Pedicure!
(Don't mind our tall grass, our landlord still has yet to provide us with a lawn mower as she promised.
)
I have to admit, it was a nice treat, but I'm not addicted yet like most of you have warned haha. It was really relaxing though, and super fun because I knew the girl so we had a lot to talk about!

Today is my second day off, yay! I'm going to meet up with Joshy for lunch in between his classes, go visit some of my college friends, gym it up, do the laundry, and make a yummy dinner :)

Happy Hump Day!
