Here and There..

Nothing huge to report... so here is a little update :)

-On Monday I tied Josh to his desk chair with a ribbon I found while cleaning out the closet
-We BBQ'd burgers for dinner!
-Josh called this his "Man Meal"
-I tried to get rid of the mold that is growing in the seam of my goggle plastic
-bleach anyone?
-In you go!
-I think it kinda worked...
-I was in our bathroom and looked out the window and saw our neighbor walk over to our driveway look at something and then walk away... so I asked Josh to check it out and he was like "oh it looks like a can or something" and I was like "ummm Josh I don't think Luther would inspect a can" and then Josh admitted he didn't tell me the truth because he knew it would freak me out...

...BECAUSE IT WAS A DEAD SNAKE!!!!

-He promptly took care of it by scooping it up with his hockey stick and putting it in the trash
-Then we went to his two hockey games and I got to hang out with his parents in the stands
And that is about it... nothing else new here :)

sleepy!

this weekend seemed to drag on forever.

Josh left Friday for a hockey tournament in LA so I was home alone (in relative terms, Stephanie was home) without him. I hate when he is gone, I can't sleep and I am always so cold because he keeps the bed so warm haha.

I stayed up way too late Friday AND Saturday watching the Olympics, I love the Olympics.

I worked Saturday and a split shift on Sunday because we had our inventory for work, we counted 6,883 units in our store. This coming Sunday our staff is going to see Valentine's Day as a group so that should be fun.

Other than that, we are still trying to figure out what to do with our living situation and see if/when we get our notice served to us. So annoying!

I'm feeling pretty tired and so ready for my 3 day weekend in a few weeks for my Dad's 50th birthday... just counting down the days!

And just a little something for all of you ladies out there, considering I forgot to do an iPhone Foto Friday (UGH! Stupid landlord!)...

Today we put in a work request for the lock on our door to be repaired at work and this is what we were sent! Hallelujah!! hahaha!
Considering we are a store full of female employees who deal with a female client base - this was quite a little treat! hahaha I couldn't help but take a picture, especially with all of the girls egging me on! haha

Three Day Hockey Weekend!!

What a great weekend! I had three days off and it was PACKED full of things! Thursday night after I got off of work Josh and I drove home to my parents for a yummy meal of Chicken Parm, yum! :) Then after dinner we hung out and watched some TV with my dad.

On Friday I got up and went to get Hot Chocolate with my good friend Katie! We went to Panama Bay, which I had never been to before. It was a really nice homey feeling place, and we had a lot of fun catching up!
After my hot chocolate date with Katie I headed to Josh's and from there we ran a few errands and then went home and had lunch. That evening we headed to San Jose because Josh and his sister had two games that night for their semi-pro hockey team. They ended up losing both games but Josh got some goals so that was good!

Then on Saturday we headed to Woodland where Josh and Amber were playing in a college hockey tournament on the SSU team.

Can you tell they are related? haha

Here are a few pictures from the games, but as you can tell...
1) Josh is too fast for my camera and
2) my camera sucks haha

Amber is the goalie for the SSU team and Josh is a forward, but as of lately he has been playing D, he is the one in the center of the picture in the white jersey.
Yay # 8!
They had four games on Saturday so in between the 5pm game and the 9pm game we went to get some dinner, and we decided to go to Sonic!

I must admit, this was my very FIRST TIME EVER going to a Sonic and it was amazing! We don't have one close to where we live, and now I am jealous of all of you who talk about going to Sonic all of the time! Those tots were delish! :)
After dinner and a quick nap in the car we headed in for the last game. Here is Joshy waiting for game time.
Me and the sweaty monster after the game :)
On Sunday we DID NOT watch the Super Bowl. There I said it. I am so lucky to have a boyfriend who doesn't care about football, so instead of watching it we headed back to our house from my parent's house and made an IKEA pit stop along the way! (Josh broke one of our plates so we went to go pick up another - but sadly they don't carry them anymore! Lame!)

We were pretty hungry by the time we got to IKEA so we walked over to the outdoor mall next to IKEA to grab a bite to eat! We decided to try this place called Asqew where they are all about skewers!
Josh got the Thai BBQ Skewers and a Cesar Salad
And I got the Texas BBQ Skewers with Mashed Potatoes! :)
And yes, they were as delish as they look!!

After our quick detour to Ikea and lunch we headed back home to do some grocery shopping, which was great because there were ZERO lines at the grocery stores. And as you all know, no line at Costco is an urban legend - but we were able to experience it! haha

Once we got home and unloaded all of our groceries we decided to take advantage of the great weather and go for a bike ride! Then we came home, put on our jammies and relaxed the rest of the night and went to bed early - the perfect end to a busy weekend!

I hope you all had a great weekend as well! Now it's back to work! boo!

Josh's Hockey Tournament!

On Saturday Josh's hockey team had a tournament in Woodland, Ca. and I was lucky enough to get the day off to attend! I was so excited! We started our morning early so we could drive there and get to the rink on time, arriving around 9AM. When we got out of the car it was FREEZING. I mean, like bone chilling cold, so we decided that since we were early we would go get some hot chocolate and then come back and wait in the warm car (because the rink of course didn't have heaters).

Well, when we came back and parked I noticed this guy in the parking lot standing there without a shirt -in FREEZING and windy temps - positioning a water cooler, and I thought omg, is he really going to shower right now??!

And yes, he did...
Anyways,
Josh's team played 4 games,
one at 10:30 am vs UC Santa Cruz,
12:30 pm vs Cal State Chico,
3:30 pm vs UC Davis,
and 6:30 pm vs West Valley College

Of course on Josh's first shift of the first game of the day he got a penalty. SURPRISE SURPRISE! For those of you who don't know, Joshy has lead the league in penalty minutes for quite some time now.

Oh look, #8 is in the box, what a shocker.
Josh is the one in blue in the center of the picture, the goalie is his sister, Amber!
Joshy and I at the end of the day, still freezing and really hungry!
Josh's team lost every game hahaha. They came really close to winning two of them, but lost it in the last few minutes. Oh, well! Better luck next time SSU!

Busy Busy Weekend!

This weekend was my weekend off for the month from work, so Josh and I made sure to make it worth while!

On Friday night when I got off of work I headed to the gym, then came home and we had some yummy BBQ Chicken and Potatoes :) then we relaxed and watched some shows off of our DVR. Although it sounds uneventful and boring, it was probably one of my favorite parts of this weekend haha.

On Saturday we got up and got ready to go to San Francisco! I've been wanting to go for a few weeks now, but we've been too busy with all of the moving chaos. So we finally were able to go on Saturday!

It was pretty foggy driving across the Golden Gate Bridge!
When we got to SF we had lunch at Bistro Burger, which was Deeeeeeeeelish!
Then of course we had to make a stop at Vera Bradley! Can you tell how excited Josh is? At this point we had probably been in the store for almost an hour hahah
We walked around downtown a bit, visiting the essentials: Anthropologie, Crate and Barrel, and of course Bloomingdales!
:)
After our shopping adventure in SF we drove home [read: Josh drove home while I napped] and we went out to our favorite Italian restaurant for dinner! On our way home we stopped by the grocery store and picked up some ice cream then headed home to have dessert, watch some tv, and do some laundry.

Sunday Josh had tryouts for a semi-professional Roller Hockey Team, so we spent half of Sunday at the rink. I read my book, and Josh got sweaty haha.
After tryouts we headed home to my parents to visit with them and to see our dog Bo, he had to have hip surgery on Friday, so I had to go home and see him. I felt so bad! He had a big cone on his head and was all zoned out on drugs :(

After dinner Sunday we headed home and went right to bed, seriously, after a long weekend, nothing is better than your own bed!

Hope you all had fabulous weekends as well!

Weekend Recap!

Friday night my former college was hosting an event with guest speaker Katelynn from the Real World Brooklyn. Since I am still so close with all of the student Event Planners, I got to go early to hang out with them and Katelynn!

Beofre meeting her I was really curious as to what she would be like in 'real life' because I felt like I already had somewhat of an idea from watching her on the show... but let me tell you, she is SO different from how they portrayed her on the show. She was hilarious, and was constantly cracking the funniest jokes and she def. loved all of the attention she was getting.

Katelynn Speaking
Here is a clip from during her Q&A in response to the question "Do your new parts look normal/real?" And she responds with a story of how the boys in the house couldn't tell hers from the other girls during a photo line up of their 'you know whats'.

Katelynn was a great speaker, and had an amazing story to tell. For those of you who may not know, Katelynn was born male, and underwent a $20K sex change surgery in Thailand, without the help of anyone in her family. She is a truly strong woman, and her story was so touching. I'm really glad I got to hear her speak, as well as meet her.

On Saturday Josh and I ran a bunch of errands, the main task: get Mother's Day gifts for our Moms. I had no idea what to get Josh's Mom, but after wandering the aisles of Michael's we found the perfect thing, a plain wooden bird feeder. I know, I know, sounds lame... but I completely transformed this bad boy into a work of art. I forgot to take a picture of it pre-paint/decorations, but just imagine the whole thing a light wooden color.

Super cute, eh? I also got her a bag of bird seed so she is ready to start feeding the birds as soon as she opens it haha.

And of course while at Michael's, we found all sorts of other fun things, like this little kid Elephant hat! I made Josh try it on and let me take his picture against his will haha.
Side Profile of the Elephant Trunk!
Then we headed over to Border's so I could find my Mom a cookbook, and thanks to Coupon Sherpa (the iPhone app) I had a 40% off coupon, and a coupon for a free drink at Seattle's Best Cafe inside Border's, so I got a yummy hot chocolate for free!

While there, Josh and I came across this wonderful treasure: a GIANT Cat book. It was in the sale section for $9 and we knew we had to get it for his sister. The thing weighed about 15 lbs or so and Josh was embarrassed to carry it around, so we hid it behind some other Giant books until right before we checked out. Oh, and everyone in line was staring at Josh and his Giant book, one guy even said "Nice Book" and laughed at Josh, it was really awkward.

Sunday Josh went to his sister's hockey game in San Jose, and I stayed home to clean the house and run some errands. Now it's Monday again, and it's time to Job Search, yuck!

An Amazing Weekend with a Splash of the Manic Mondays

I am happy to report that this weekend was Amazing! I had so much fun, and did a lot of great things, with a lot of great people! So lets recap:

Thursday night Josh and I had dinner at Allie's house after my run with Steph. It was DEEELISH! After dinner/watching a bit of the Sharks game we came home and got ready to go to Josh's hockey game in Alameda at 9:30 pm (talk about late night!) I'm not even sure if he won or not because I was busy talking to his mom and the other hockey girlfriends haha. What can I say, I've been to SOOO many of his games they all start to blend together after a while. We got home around 12:30 and went to bed.

Friday I didn't have work, so I got up early to go to San Francisco shopping with Allie! After a trip to the bank and the gas station we were on out way! We dropped off the Jetta at the Valet in the parking garage and were on our way. First Stop: Old Navy. Now I usually don't shop at Old Navy but I had a great coupon for 30% off and I figured what the heck. Let me tell you, I got 3 sun dresses, 5 sweaters, 1 pair of strappy sandals, 1 headband, and a pair of shorts for Josh all for $180. That's Insane!! The sundresses were $15 each, plus I had 30% off, that's cheaper than Forever 21 or Target, who knew!?

After Old Navy we headed in to the Westfield Shopping Center, as you have heard me blog about before as my all time favorite mall of the centruy. Anyways, our first stop was American Eagle, where I got a really cute pair of gold strappy sandals, and I signed up for their new discount program through their Aerie Line, and I got to pick out a pair of panties for free! Yay!

We then had lunch, and continued on to Vera Bradley. Where I became the proud owner of the Wilma Bag in the Vintage Rose Collection, along with a super cute lunch box, and headband, and because I spent so much they threw in a bow cosmetic bag for free! Yay again!

After that we headed home, with stops at Michaels to get Allie some Craft Supplies, Costco to buy a FastTrack, and Sports Authority to try to find me a new swim suit for swimming laps. (which I later found one on clearance from $72 down to $39, woo hoo!)

After getting home Allie and I had planned on having a girls night but we were way too beat from our busy/VERY successful day of shopping. So I stayed in with Joshy and we watched some John and Kate plus 8 and reruns of COPS.

Saturday was Josh's sister's birthday. She also goes to SSU and lives close by so we picked her up and met their parents at the Elephant Bar for a late lunch. After that we went to Alameda because Amber had two hockey games, and then we got back home around 9pm.

Amber and her Ice Cream!

Sunday was my catch up day, filled with all things unfun, yet very necessary. Overall it was a great weekend and I am so sad to be back at work and not outside or in a mall, haha!

Hope everyone else had a great weekend too!
